I’m kinda disappointed that I could not find 萬沙浪 version on YouTube.
So I decided to just give Teresa Teng a try and she’s equally good.
I love how there is a “Question and Answer” thing going on between the
vocalist and keyboardist which exudes the life and excitement of the psychedelic era.

Day in an Antiquarian life
Dashed down to the Little Drom Store just to buy the Pez Collection Tote bags. True fan I must say. You can see how it is cluttered with style selling all sorts of old-school memorabilia from Singapore. It’s a pity that their vintage polaroids are not on sale.
The search for one is STILL ONGOING.

I wanna thank those who informed me about this collection. I almost made a compulsive decision to buy all three but I settled down for one eventually. I might go back next month to buy another bag and another kewpie doll :)
I also visited two more antique stores: Dinky Di Store & World Savage.
Dinky Di Store is a true junkyard where you can find hidden treasures. Since the shop was closed, I peered through the windows, looking at what the messy piles have to offer. Well, i did find a treasure ! a vintage Polaroid camera ! but due to financial constrains, I am still in the process on making a decision.
Since i was around the vicinity, I decided to check out World Savage.
World Savage has beautiful vintage items curated even to its nitty gritty details. Apart from apparels, they sell vintage jewelleries and wedding rings. It’s a pity I didn’t get to take pictures of the interior as I felt I was imposing on the owners from closing the shop. This gives me a reason to go back there again.
To end an antiquarian night, I visited my friend’s shophouse at Geylang Lorong 24A. Her house is still pretty raw and left untouched because her father wants to preserve the house. I spent my visit snapping pictures till it exhausted my batteries.

Some 90s tunes to usher in our day of rest.

Bill Withers -‘lovely Day’ has been on repeat since yesterday. It has been awhile since I’ve heard a song that gives me this tingly feeling in my heart, making me smile to myself even when I’m walking on the streets. Well, I am a sucker when it comes to these soul & r&b music.
Apart from that, I also chance upon Camera Obscura’s music video - Lloyd, I’m ready to be heartbroken, where I love the art direction of the film. You can see a couple, all dressed in their retro getup, dancing through the brightly litted streets of Tokyo and an old film scene as they fall in love. Sort of my dream kinda date.

Wartime Recipes
Eat to live Wartime Recipes is one of my favourite webisodes from National Museum of Singapore. It talks about the struggles and how people were so innovative in creating dishes despite of the scarcity during WWII.
Despite of the war, live had to go on. Time does not wait on any man.
Kewpie dolls
I never knew these dolls were named kewpie until I read about Anne Frank receiving one during Christmas. These dolls have been around since 1913 and I never knew that they were originally produced by this German company, Kestner. I always believed that they derived from China.
I used to have many kewpies lying around at home. At that time, I wasn’t an antiquary and threw away all my valuable toys. I truly regret my actions and now I’ve to pay the price.
Treasure your toys everyone.
Toy Story is a good movie to learn from this.

how are you my friend? I hope you’re doing well up there. It has been more than a year and i never fail to say this, time do passed very fast. I reckoned you are currently lying down on the white fluffy clouds playing your cool guitars.
Guess what? Deep Purple came to Singapore recently. Though it looked as if they were going to collapse anytime soon, but they still managed to rock the whole Star Vista theatre! That’s right! What a strange place to hold a concert especially for a rock band ! It would be awesome if you were there with Denie and I.
I believe you’ve probably acquainted yourself with the Gibb Brothers. But I do not know how things work up there because I understand there are billions and billions of souls and I’ve no idea how you can actually locate for someone. I do wonder if there is such thing as overcrowding in heaven.
I miss you very much & of cos, the Carpenters vinyl is still in good condition.
